The
industrial middle classes in Manresa, basically linked
to the textile industry, showed their consolidation
as the new leading class in town by erecting Modernista
buildings. This new style was used to create a group
of buildings for either social, industrial or trading
activities, as well as for private and religious use.
From this local Modernista heritage it is worth highlighting
the Casino, a work by the local architect Ignasi Oms
i Ponsa, the Lluvià House, and the old warehouses
at Can Jorba –a massive and decorated example
of Art déco designed by Arnald Calvet.
