The Baix Llobregat region is a summary of Modernista
architecture –from the most outstanding works
to the most popular approaches to this style. The most
emblematic work is the crypt of the Güell Community,
where Antoni Gaudi tried many of the solutions that
he later applied to other designs. The religious and
the industrial arts are completed, respectively, with
the peculiar contribution that Jujol, a disciple of
Gaudí, left in several buildings in Sant Joan
Despí, where he displayed a wide repertoire of
religious images of great elasticity, and with the visit
to the Pujol and Bausis factory, which produced the
vast majority of the pottery used by Modernista architects.
