Situated in an industrial
colony of Modernista origin that captivates visitors
with the charm of its streets and the peace of its surroundings,
is one of Gaudí’s most beautiful and most
genuine works: the Church, also known as the Crypt,
of the Colònia Güell.
Although it has remained unfinished, this church represents
a culminating point in the work of Gaudí. In
this building he included, for the first time in a unitary
way, practically all of his architectural advances,
just as he would do later at the Sagrada Família.
In reality, however, the Colònia Güell must
be understood as an ensemble formed by three parts,
each with its own strong personality: the Industrial
Precinct, the Church and its surroundings, and the dwellings
with their respective community facilities. For this
reason, we invite you to enjoy a pleasant tour of the
industrial colony’s most significant buildings.
