| The Puig i Cadafalch Route
comprises a guided visit to diverse Modernista buildings
designed by this great architect in his native town,
Mataró, and in the neighbouring town, Argentona,
where he spent his summers. The buildings that are visited
in Mataró are: the Assembly Hall of the Town
Hall building (interior visit), the birth house of Puig
i Cadafalch, the market Mercat del Rengle, the shop
“La Confianza” (interior visit), Casa Parera,
and the Beneficència, as well as Casa Coll i
Regàs (interior visit), which is considered the
jewel of the Modernista route of Mataró. On completing
this itinerary, visitors are transferred by motor coach
to the town of Argentona.
There, visits are made to the summer house of Puig i
Cadafalch (visit to the interior and garden), the Capella
del Sagrament (interior visit), the houses Can Calopa
and Can Garí (interior visit).
Practical information
This is a walking tour, with transfer
from one town to the other by micro-bus with a capacity
for a maximum of 30 persons. The route is organised
for a minimum of 20 persons. Languages: Catalan, Spanish,
English, French and German (to be arranged).
Hours:
First and third weekend of each month: Saturdays or
Sundays from 10 am to 1 pm, April to October (except
August).
